Tormod Askildsen, head of LEGO Community Development Team, has confirmed his presence in TOMARLEGO 2009. His presence in this event comes to show LEGO's support and commitment to Comunidade 0937's efforts, which have been regarded positively in Billund. This event itself will be closely monitored by the LCD team - the goal for all parties involved is to hold a top quality LEGO event, whilst paying attention to the slightest details. You can find out more about Tormod and his job at this topic on Portal 0937.

20th February, 2009

In 2008, TOMARLEGO had the honour of having as godmother a 115 years old Portuguese, Europe's oldest woman, that way showing the world that there is no age limit to have fun with LEGO. Several months later we came to know that Mrs Maria de Jesus had left us, but the meaning that she had for the inaugural event deserves to be remembered - she will be kept as TOMARLEGO's godmother, that way passing the message: Do you really think you are too old for LEGO?

It is with very affection and pride that our first edition's very special godmother, Mrs Maria de Jesus is, since the 26th of November 2008, the oldest person in the world. She is an inhabitant of Tomar, who has now 115 years old. If her health allows it, she will open this second edition, just as she did in the 1st TOMARLEGO.
